A great opportunity to work alongside our dynamic team at the Style Acre tearoom in Blewbury. This role can be a potential job share, although weekend flexibility would be great.

We are looking for someone with previous kitchen leading experience, who shares our values and wants to make a difference.

About Style Acre

Style Acre is an Oxfordshire-based, award-winning and forward-looking charity supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism and physical needs. We have over 35 supported living households, 3 community day hubs and a successful work programme, supporting more than 250 people. We are rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Main Purpose          

To support the Manager and work alongside the existing Supervisor with the day-to-day management and smooth running of the Style Acre Tea Room. Ensuring excellent standards of customer service, hygiene, food safety and stock control are always upheld. The Supervisor will be required to deputise for the Tearoom Manager, in their absence. To support and supervise the team and help with the work placements for people we support.

Principal Responsibilities

  1. To support and deputise for the Tearoom Manager and Assistant Manager, in their absence with the responsibility for all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Tearoom.
  1. To provide sickness and holiday cover for the Tearoom Manager
  1. Maintain high standards of hygiene, following food hygiene regulations and standards.
  1. Working with the Manager and team to improve sales and quality.
  1. Using excellent communication skills to work with a wide range of stakeholders, including people we support, families, customers, and volunteers.
  1. To demonstrate and promote excellent customer service skills
  1. To work alongside all Tearoom staff, people we support and Style Acre colleagues to create excellent work opportunities and placements for adults with learning disabilities.
  1. Providing support for adults with learning disabilities on work placements when required including providing 1-to-1 support in the absence of a Support Worker.
  1. Training and development of new staff members and volunteers.
  1. Assisting the Tearoom Manager if necessary, with the planning of menus, stock control and ordering.
  1. To ensure a high standard of food and drink preparation are maintained.
  1. To ensure all monies are handled in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  1. To support any Tea Room marketing and promotional activity and events – Christmas, Easter etc.
  1. To support the Tearoom Manager in ensuring the building is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and report maintenance issues as required Senior Management.

Training and Development:

Style Acre is committed to providing the training, development and support necessary to ensure all employees understand and achieve the responsibilities of their role and fulfil their personal and professional potential.  Mandatory and statutory training is inclusive of this programme.  In addition, dependent on the specific service needs and requirements, specialised training will be scheduled into an employee’s individual development programme.  Examples of where additional specific training would be applicable would be in services supporting people with profound and multiple learning disabilities, complex health needs, autism or mental health needs in addition to their learning disability.
